Types of Signs

There are many signs that can be ordered from us, and customers can also request any sign they wish to be designed and installed. Each sign, even if it serves the same purpose, has different characteristics and design, according to the customer's preferences.
On this page, we will list some of the signs and products that are particularly common with us, categorized by topics, to provide you with inspiration for designing your signs and to give you an idea of the types of signs that exist and can be designed.

Signs for Businesses and Institutions

In the field of businesses and institutions, the signs can be divided into two parts

1.

Outdoor Signs

Signs that usually include the name of the institution or business and a logo (if available). The signs can be designed in different fonts, colors, sizes, and made from materials resistant to weather damage

2.

Indoor Signs

Signs and letters that can also include the company name and logo, directional signs for rooms and floors, room signage, and illuminated signs. These signs can also be designed in different styles and made from various materials.

Signs for Synagogues and Institutions

Signage in synagogues and other religious institutions is a central and important part of the building’s design, mainly because memorials and prayer psalms are a central part of the entire world of synagogues and religious institutions.

Since there are many prayer and psalm boards that need to be hung in synagogues, this should be done professionally, so that the texts are readable and respectful, the materials of the boards and signs are high-quality, and the design of all the signs blends together.

Among the items commonly hung in synagogues, one can find eternal lights, memorial boards, donor boards for the synagogue or religious institution, memory boards for donors or their loved ones, and more.

As mentioned, there are also other religious institutions for which Gal-Ed provides signage and guidance, such as mikveh signs, memorial and remembrance boards in Torah institutions, and other signs as needed

1.

Letters and Signage for Indoor and Outdoor Use

For synagogues, as well as for other institutions, it is possible to choose outdoor and indoor signage with the synagogue's name, room names, and directional guidance.

2.

Illuminated Signs for Synagogues

It is also possible to choose illuminated signs that are more visible inside buildings and in darker lighting.

3.

Prayer and Psalm Boards

To add more content to the design of the synagogue or religious institution, signs made of glass or other materials can be hung with blessings, prayers, and psalms written on them.

4.

Kiddush Levanah Sign

A sign with the blessing and order of Kiddush Levanah is one of the most common blessing signs typically hung in synagogues. Since it is a relatively long prayer, it must be designed in a way that is readable and pleasant to the eye.

5.

Memorial and Commemoration Boards for Synagogues

In synagogues and other religious institutions, it is customary to have a memorial wall where memorial and commemoration boards are hung in honor of the donors who helped establish the synagogue or the relevant institution, or in memory of the donors' loved ones. These memorial boards and signs can be made in various sizes, materials, and styles that match the synagogue's design

6.

Eternal Lights and Lamps

We can design an eternal light for the synagogue in a variety of different styles. You can choose to add an inscription with the light and even include memorial and commemoration boards on it. There are eternal lights in different designs, for wall mounting, ceiling mounting, or mounting on the bimah.

7.

Bulletin Board for Synagogue

A bulletin board can be chosen for important notices related to the synagogue or the relevant institution, intended for the general public.

8.

Decoration Products and Additional options

There are additional products that are commonly hung in synagogues, such as a Tree of Life in memory of the donors, the Elijah's Chair, the Ten Commandments, decorative boards of the Ten Tribes or Seven Species, a decorated Parochet, and other elements chosen by the gabbai.

Additional Signage

In addition to signage for businesses and religious institutions, custom signage can also be created for personal use and various needs and purposes.

For example, many private individuals choose to memorialize their loved ones with memorial or remembrance signs that will be hung at a location or monument established in their memory, not necessarily in a religious or Torah setting.

The company also provides signage and memorial services for cemeteries, to guide visitors and memorialize the deceased. Cemeteries sometimes have special sections or memorial stones for specific groups of people, which also require signage and explanations about the memorial or section.
